Future Insults

Luddlite

(n.)

A part-time technophobe who wears tech refusal as a badge of honor, declining the conveniences easiest to sacrifice and secretly keeping the rest.

The luddlite used wife’s phone to book the cabin, find the trailhead, and take the photos of him enjoying their off-grid weekend.

Does it ring true?

From the future, or already here?

Coinage notes

The original nineteenth-century Luddites smashed the new machines that threatened their livelihoods, and some were hanged for it. The -lite is the diet version: all of the refusal, none of the risk.
