Quantify + intimacy, two words that should repel each other. At first it feels practical: tracking your partner’s heart rate to better care for them. But beware Goodhart’s Law which suggests that when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. The danger here is that the data itself becomes the object of affection rather than the person behind it.
