A lapse into momentary stupidity, generally caused by an overreliance on easy answers from AI once too often.
The trivia night crowd remembered him as the dorch who blurted “Australia” when asked to name the capital of Austria.

From the Scottish Gaelic dorcha, meaning dark. Used here both to describe a temporary darkening of the mind and also for its onomatopoeia; the dull thud a brain makes when it reaches for an answer and comes up empty. Note: can be used to describe a moment, or directed at an individual who has acted like a dorch.
